Traction Tracks   Would you rather be stuck?.... or done!

Our tracks will turn your machine into a real work horse. No more getting stuck in the mud and your skidsteer will climb almost anything.

Our original Deluxe Skid Steer Tracks have now been upgraded to our new and improved MANGANESE ALLOY DELUXE tracks. They are now made from an extremely high quality Manganese 11 aught (7/16") MANGANESE ALLOY SIDE CHAIN that is specifically designed for use with tires and where extreme wear is a major factor.

You must keep in mind that with chain style tracks the chain links are the pivot points for movement around the drive area of the tires, and they are what take the bulk of wear during use. Therefore, the chain must be made from a quality material that is designed for high wear and strength in order to give a long life expectancy. Our Manganese Alloy Side Chain is chemically THRU hardened giving it a GRADE 80 rating and it does not lose its composition or integrity when hea
t is applied to it during the process of welding the cleats to the chain, so it retains its original strength. The use of this Manganese Alloy Grade 80 “thru hardened” chain results in a MUCH longer lasting set of tracks (in comparison, when heat is applied to just a simple case hardened tow or transport chain (i.e. grade 70), the links to which the cleats are welded can loose their heat treated “case hardening” and they can actually become soft or brittle…this of course makes for a set of tracks that will constantly stretch and wear out quickly at these weakened points).

We
ONLY use Long Link Side Chain because it is specifically designed for use with tires. In addition the longer link gives a larger area for the welds between the chains and cleats than a standard link chain and therefore allows for 2 full inches of weld on both the inside and outside of each contact point between the cleats and the chain. This equates to 8 full inches of extremely deep, strong, stick welding on every cleat.

Our cleats are "end welded" to the chains to bring the chains further down the sidewalls of the tires for a more secure fit. This "end weld" also protects the tires by covering the entire sharp end of the cleats and only allowing the smooth surface of the chains come in contact with the tires' sidewalls.

After literally dozens of Demo sets being tested, tried, used and abused we have always found that the most wear and most abuse taken is to the chains and not the cleats. In fact, the cleats get far less wear then one would think. This is due in part to the fact that the leading edge of the cleats is what dig in for traction, therefore, they tend to wear from front to back more than they do from bottom to top. We have never had nor heard of one of our cleats wearing out. For these reasons our Deluxe Model is made from our new 7/16" (11 aught) Manganese Alloy chain (which actually weighs about 10% less then comparable steel chain) and we couple them to 3/8" thick cleats because we have found using anything heavier than 3/8" cleats only seems to add unnecessary cost and weight. The end result....a set of tracks that is affordable for almost any skid steer owner and not only do they LAST LONGER but are still light enough for one person to install and remove by themselves, something we consider to be an EXTREMELY important point. Our 10 & 12 inch tracks weigh in at approx. 110 - 120 pounds per side (220 to 240 per set). This means easier installation, easier handling and far less drag on the machine.

We also offer this design with a 14 aught (1/2") Alloy Chain, but these are usually far more than almost any skid steer would ever need. In fact, we actually do not even recommend this size unless you have at least a 14 x 17.5 tired machine.

The use of our configurations and Manganese Alloy Chain is considered to be such an improvement over previous chains commonly used that we have been able to apply this latest design for a new US Patent.

Does all this sound like overkill? Perhaps.....but please understand that we not only sell tracks, we use them (and abuse them) with our own skid steers so we know what these so called "little machines" are capable of doing and the situations that we always end up putting them in. Think about it.......Rugged wear resistant Manganese Alloy Chain...8 full inches of weld per cleat....Still sound like overkill?? We don't think so either.
